It was a wee bit rainy today en Paris but that didn't stop the French Connection. After finding out that both the Louvre and the Centre Pompidou are closed on Tuesdays, we decided to face the rain and wander around Ile de la Cite and the Latin Quarter. After eating lunch in front of Notre Dame, Baxter couldn't resist having his picture taken!

We walked around the interior of the cathedral and stood in awe at everything around us. One could spend hours walking around inside and out looking at the incredible carvings and gorgeous stained glass. It is amazing just how much detail goes into making each one different than the next. A definite must see if you are ever in Paris!

We spent the rest of the afternoon walking around the Latin Quarter and stumbled up the Pantheon as well as the fountain at St. Michel. Walking along the Boulevard St. Michel made us feel like we were in school again, rubbing shoulders with the students going to the Sorbonne and grabbing quick cups of coffee and the many Starbucks’ we saw along the way! If only it was Tim Hortons!

Ou est Jacie?

We started off the day to the lovely sounds of cobblestones being ripped from the earth just down from the apartment... don’t ask us how they got those big machines down our narrow little street but they did and it was tres fort!

We then took our derrières down to the Canadian Embassy and brushed elbows with the classy folk down by the Champs Elysees... but quickly felt out of place with the likes of Prada and Gucci and went on our way down the Seine toward the Tuilleries...after dodging the chaos that was Place de la Concorde we spent a relaxing afternoon in the gardens and toured around the outside of the Louvre before heading back up the hill.

Where's Jacie hiding?

After hanging out on the steps of the Sacre Couer in the eve and being serenaded by the songs of John Lennon, we finally met up with the lovely Joeffrey. He showed us around and gave us the lowdown on all things Parisian all the while giggling at our horrible francais!

PS- Dad, we have found the words and we will get you your picture tomorrow, but in the meantime if you could fashion a stencil like apparatus to make our trees at home this round that would be great!

This is a super easy one... I (Jacie) am hanging out somewhere??? And yes, many of you spotted Nat at the top of the stairs... You should enjoy a cup of coffee at Timmy's for us!

We had another crazy day en Paris... We started off the day with the thickest cup of coffee we have ever consumed through the French version of a Melita! Then stopped at the Arc de Triomphe on our way to the Eiffel Tower. It's a whole lot of organized chaos going on around the big Arc, we thought a few bikers were going to get pegged off! This is the view down the Champs Elysees:

We then went on a bit of a walk down the Seine and finally saw the brilliance that is le Tour Eiffel. It was pretty surreal to see it in real life! Even our lovely Baxter had to have a picture in front of it! We also checked out the wall you were talking about Denise and it in fact says 'peace' in the many languages of the world!

We then trek a billion miles to find some sustinance and then went to hang out in the park in front of the Invalides:

We stumble on some elderly gents playing a rousing game of boules in the park:
Then, it was back to the Tower to see the famous light show, and despite the coldness, it was an amazing sight to see... Just another day en Paris!

Hey folks!... Well, jour deux en Paris is coming to a close and we feel like our legs are going to fall off!... It feels a bit like you're always walking uphill in Montmartre but the view is well worth it!... Today we ventured into the Sacre Couer and sat on the steps for lunch and were slightly creeped out by the live statues hanging out on the steps:
Ten points for anyone who can find Natalie in this lovely photo:
After luch we walked around Montmarte and stumbled around looking for of all things toilet paper! With no Walmart down the street it was a bit more difficult to find some flippin' TP... but after my (Jacie's) mad french skills we finally found some and with a sense of accomplishment enjoyed a baguette in the park just up from our apartment and found a wall that says 'I love you' in over 300 languages:

Stayed tuned tomorrow for the first trip to Le Tour de Eiffel!

Bonjour mes amis... Well we finally made it to the "City of Lights"... We definitely got in a work out trucking all our stuff through the subway and up the cobblestones and then up another set of horrendous steps to the 5th floor!... If we look slightly exhausted in our pictures that would be why!... After a quick nap we made a quick trip up the hill to the Sacre Couer... It is tres beau!

P.S. Auntie D we tried the pain chocolat...délicieux
