BACK TO THE FLATLANDS!

>> Wednesday, March 4, 2009

Well hello there all you silent observers in the interspace! I hope you're all doing just dandy! We had ourselves a lovely weekend and had a chance to get back to our prairie roots at the Salon de l'agriculture... it's really just a fancy French name for a GIANT Agribition!

Now, it's important to note that when the French decide to hold a 'salon' for something (which they do often for thing such as wine, chocolate, weddings, etc.), they don't skimp out! We tackled as much of the eight pavillions as we could and were pleasantly surprised and found the old saying to be true... 'even though you take the girl out of the prairies, you can never take the prairie out of the girl!'

We were greeted at the entrance by a massive amount of various varieties of sheep both wooly and shaven and we found ourselves a friend in the form of 60240 with the large head:

BONUS VIDEO: No big deal, I'm just a sheep whisperer!

There's babies everywhere!

Nat was a bit apprehensive about the cows being out in the open and tied up by only a rope...
But she worked it out with Daisy the milk cow with the big hooters!
Leave it to the French to have their cows outfitted with fancy bells!

The donkey and the ass, guess which is which... I kid, I kid!
This is for you daddio...looks a bit like Chief!
BONUS VIDEO: This little piggy...

They even had some guys working the lumberjack scene... no flanel though, we were a bit disappointed!
They also had a pavilion for the different regions of France that had food, wine, etc from all over. But it was upstairs that we found the rhum party! All the overseas colonies of France had their own booths and the music was pumping... They definitely know how to serve a good rhum cocktail. We found the Martinique booth and thought of Charles!

Where's Jacie?

BONUS VIDEO: Puppies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

STAY TUNED: We're off to Berlin for the weekend! I'm sure we'll find some shenanigans to get into in Deutschland and we'll have loads to tell you peeps when we return!
