LE WEEKEND

Bonjour,

I hope you all had an exciting weekend! I realize that the blog has once again had a makeover. I have been learning new things everyday about how to format HTML codes and add all sorts of goodies to the blog, so please bare with me while I'm learning! I hope you all like the updates I've been making!

Now, on with the happenings of le weekend here in Paris! We had a exciting time here over the last few days. We started off on Saturday with a trip to Chinatown in the 13th near Porte d'Ivry. It was like stepping into a whole new world! We stopped in at a Chinese grocery store called Tang Freres and had a lovely time trying to not only decipher the French labels but Chinese, Japanese, and Indian! It was an interesting experience to say the least and they had an amazing selection of so many things we haven't even heard of before including pomelos, which are a citrus fruit native to South-East Asia. They taste like a sweet grapefruit and are GIANT!

On the way there we had a funny moment on the metro when the train was stalled at a stop and the doors wouldn't close. The metro here runs on a pretty tight schedule so being stopped for 15 minutes left a back log of trains behind us. But, the funniest part was watching people rushing to get into the train because they thought they were going to miss it! But there we sat, not understanding anything they were telling us on the speakers and watching to see if other people were going to get off. Luckily we captured it on video!

Then, on the way back, the train became a sardine can as a massive amount of people shoved on and Natalie was forced to make it to second base with the girl beside her! It was definitely a fun time, especially because we got the giggles and couldn't stop laughing! I wish we could have captured it on film but alas, we couldn't move our arms or legs!

Later in the evening we were treated to the first snowfall here in Paris! Check it out!

STAY TUNED: This week we tackle the task of trying to find ourselves some Christmas Lights!
